Eating low fat yogurt decreases your chance of developing high blood pressure. That was the message from a presentation at the American Heart Association’s High Blood Pressure Research 2012 Scientific Sessions.
The researchers followed a group of over 2000 people for 15 years, taking blood samples and asking them how much yogurt they consumed. Participants in the trial had a 31% less chance of developing high blood pressure if at least 2% of their daily calories came from yogurt, that’s approximately 85g per day or a 250g pot every 3 days.
The story is reported on the website of the American Heart Association.
