Taking decaffeinated green coffee supplements could reduce your risk of developing type 2 diabetes, which can lead to Alzheimer’s and other neurological diseases. That is the message from a paper published this week by a research team led by Prof. Pasinetti from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, NY.
Svetol®, a decaffeinated green coffee dietary supplement, appeared to reduce the negative effects of a high fat diet on glucose tolerance response in mice, and improve mitochondrial energy metabolism in the brain.
The paper has been published in Nutritional Neuroscience and is available from their website.
