Brewer’s droop? You need some Hard Liquor

We are all familiar with the idea of adding something a bit extra to our alcohol: stimulants such as a caffeine for example, to fight the fatigue brought on by the alcohol.

Reported in the South China Morning Post two distillers from China seem to have taken that idea to a whole new (and frankly illegal) level. Chinese police have confiscated bottles of Baijiu (pronounced “by-joe”), an expensive grain liquor from the two distillers after they were found to contain Sildenafil, known to you and me as Viagra.

Apparently the Baijiu had been marketed as having “health preserving qualities”. I would say more like “life giving qualities” myself but there you go.
