John Smith’s Extra Smooth, a popular bitter in the UK is being reduced from 3.8% to 3.6% alcohol, and the price will increase.
Reported in the finance section of the Telegraph, an English newspaper, the report went on to say that the reduction in alcohol will mean a saving to the company, Heineken, of £6.6m per year.
A spokesman for the company told the Financial Times that the lower percentage alcohol is in line with their biggest competitors.
