USDA sees prices to increase only slightly in 2012

USDA expects only moderate inflation for food in 2012. Especially dairy products and vegetables will experience the normal inflation except for potential price jumps due to bad weather shortages. Unfortunately, there are 2 exceptions.

Beef prices will rise due to smaller herds, as it can be foreseen by now. And wheat prices will increase, e.g. due to financial speculation. This will show especially in prices for bread and cereals.

USDA posted a broadcast which can be found on YouTube.
