Is high fructose corn syrup worse for you than sugar? Not according to a new research paper published last week in the Open access Nutrition Journal. They found that people on a calorie controlled diet lost weight regardless of whether sucrose or high fructose corn syrup was the main source of calories in their diet provided by sweetener.
This challenges other research that suggests that high fructose corn syrup in the diet is one of the factors in the obesity epidemic.
