EU audit in Austria on pesticides control: good but with prior warning to growers

By 9. januari 2012Blog, Health

The objective of the audit was to evaluate the control systems for pesticide residues in foodstuffs of plant origin. Competent authorities (CAs) and their responsibilities are clearly defined. Legal requirements are in place for sanctions to be imposed and enforcement measures to be taken in the case of noncompliances identified in the areas of plant protection products (PPPs) and pesticide residues.

Comprehensive controls take place on the use of PPPs. However, inspections at growers are performed with prior warning which is not in compliance with the requirements.
