The report describes the outcome of an audit carried out by the Food and Veterinary Office (FVO) in New Zealand from 6 to 19 May 2011. The objective of the audit was to evaluate the capacity of the New Zealand authorities to implement and to enforce the sanitary measures and the control systems put in place to fulfil the requirements for fresh bovine, ovine and equine meat, and casings for human consumption intended for export to the European Union (EU).
The certification for export to the EU was generally in compliance with the national requirements.
The overall performance of the CA and the standard of the establishments audited were found to be
satisfactory.
