That was the reminder posted on the UK’s Food Standards Agency (FSA) website today. The reason being that contaminated curry leaves were behind an outbreak of food poisoning at the Street Spice festival in Newcastle, UK, that affected more than 400 people.

The press release goes on to describe the importance of handling all fresh herbs and spices correctly, and to ensure general cleanliness when preparing food, i.e. washing hands, chopping boards, knives and other kitchen utensils between handling raw and cooked food.

The full press release can be found on the FSA website.
