Keep it up with the Mediterranean Diet

The Mediterranean diet has been shown in many studies to have a positive effect on health. Now, it appears it can also help in the bedroom.

Yep, we are talking about erectile dysfunction (ED). According to research presented at the EuroEcho-Imaging Conference this year the Mediterranean diet can help improve “cardiovascular performance”. They say that ED is not a symptom of getting old and that (80% of the time) it is a warning sign that all is not well with the vascular system and can indicate an increased chance of stroke or heart attack.

With that in mind, the researchers recruited 75 men with ED and put them on a Mediterranean style diet. They found that the men that least adhered to the diet had a significantly worse vascular and heart function compared to those that followed it more closely.

The research has not yet been peer reviewed but it would seem to be another feather in the cap for the Mediterranean diet (and a lot less conspicuous than popping a pill each time to be ready for action).
