A new one for you. German authorities are investigating the possibility that eggs laid by hens in cramped conditions have been mis-sold as organic. So far, 150 farms in Lower Saxony have been implicated in the scandal, and 50 farms from two other regions of Germany are also being investigated.
Organic produce is big business in Germany where many people are willing to pay more for food they believe to be healthier or produced in a more humane way.
