Brits go continental

Brits are shunning traditional British sandwich fillers such as turkey slices and going continental buying products such as chorizo according to a report in the English newspaper The Telegraph.

Made popular by TV chefs such as Jamie Oliver Chorizo is finding favour with British consumers and sales have risen by 6.1 % in the last year, higher than the sales increase of the general cooked meats market.

Another reason for the rise in popularity could be the increase cost of the “value” meats. With the gap closing between the prices of value and higher quality products people are making the leap.
